The terna group launches “Terna Accademy”, training and research hub
Terna launches “Terna Academy”, the new training and research hub of the national electricity grid operator, aimed at developing the expertise of personnel within the Group ecosystem. In line with the goals established with the update of the 2021-2025 “Driving Energy” Industrial Plan, Terna wants to strengthen and promote new skills through an innovative cultural and training offer capable of supporting the energy transition.
Creation of the Academy forms part of NexTerna, the cultural evolution programme aimed at offering new ways of working through active engagement and increased personnel awareness. To develop the training offer, currently focused primarily on technical content, Terna Academy promotes projects for the innovation, strengthening and updating of skills.
“The Academy is the result of a process of cultural and social change that began two years ago, and which continues to evolve for the professional and personal needs of our colleagues” explained Valentina Bosetti, Chairwoman of Terna. “The key training area dedicated to sustainability aims to support and further increase the impact of our actions, aimed not only at protecting the environment but also at the development of sustainable practices from a social and economic perspective.”
“Terna Academy is a space for research and for the growth of our people, promoting a culture of continuous learning and a new approach to training, aligned with the strategic approach set out in the updated 2021–2025 Industrial Plan”, said Stefano Donnarumma, CEO of Terna. “This innovative training platform is designed to be an effective tool to enable a transition that, primarily, must be cultural, for the development of distinctive skills needed for the achievement of the challenging sustainability goals ahead.”
To guarantee the highest levels of scientific rigour in the training approach, the authority of content and the interdisciplinary cooperation, Terna Academy has equipped itself with a governance model involving a Scientific Committee with a top academic profile, including three important figures from the academic world, in addition to Valentina Bosetti and Stefano Donnarumma: Prof. Francesco Profumo from the Politecnico di Torino University (Turin), Prof. Maurizio Delfanti, Chief Executive Officer of RSE – Ricerca Sistema Energetico, and Prof. Gustavo Piga from Rome’s “Tor Vergata” University. The Scientific Committee is completed by three Terna managers, Emilia Rio, Head of People Organization and Change, Massimiliano Garri, Head of Innovation & Market Solutions, and Massimiliano Paolucci, Head of External Relations, Institutional Affairs and Sustainability. Governance of the Academy also involves Expert Leads to guide planning, in addition to structures and specialists in training within the company.
